Few of us would splash out on this amazing hand-made crystal chande- lier but when youve released a track called Revolver, maybe it has a point. The ultimate material girl ordered the light for an undisclosed fee not long after she released the 2009 sin- gle. The smallest of these huge lights start at 17,000, but they can reach hundreds of thousands of pounds for bespoke pieces. Dutch artist Hans Van Bentem sculpts chandeliers into guns, skulls, eagles and even spiders. Hans, 44, from The Hague, Holland, said: I know Madonna bought one for the room of one of her houses, it was all very secretive, but I think it hangs in a childs room. The chandelier shows wealth and classical values. I play with this by transforming them into symbols of power, violence or fear, he added. I couldnt tell you how many indi- vidual crystals there are, its in the thousands. Madonna, 51, loves to shock. Her Chanel shoes worn at a premiere in 2008 featured plexiglass pistol heels.
