This is an interesting year, especially with the recent HSE campaign advising us to look after our mental health. It is often the stress of dealing with the challenges we face that cause us feel run down, tired and sometimes even overwhelmed. Ki massage therapy is all about quietening the mind, allowing ourselves to experience deep mental relaxation. Ki massage is designed to dissolve resistance, to take the stress out of every set of muscles in turn. The body becomes fluid and the energy or Ki is capable of flowing freely, restoring that great sense of well-being again. Training in the philosophy of holistic medicine and personal development is a vital and rewarding aspect of the internationally recognised diploma course at the Irish Association of Holistic Medicine (IHCA). The course is a great introduction into the world of holistic medicine. All courses focus on the philosophy of holistic medicine as part of the curriculum and it is a truly rewarding aspect of the training, both personally and professionally. The Concentrated Ki Massage course has the same qualifications as the one-year course (a diploma from the IHCA and Certificate from the internationally recognised City & Guilds of London). Students will have project work to do throughout the three-month period and would be qualified to go into practice as early as July. Obviously, this gives a very quick return on the initial investment. Upon successful completion of the course, graduates are invited to become a member of the association. With membership you can then gain insurance to go into practice either full or part time in your home, a gym, health spa, hotel, or tennis club the opportunities are endless! The course fee is 2,450, which includes all course materials and exam fees. There is, however, a 20 per cent discount on all courses booked before February 12. The concentrated Ki Massage Diploma course commences on March 6 for the first of two week- long seminars in Eccles Street, Dublin 7. The second week commences on May 8 and wraps up on June 19 and 20 with final exams and assessments.
