Now, more than 180 colleges, university museums and galleries around the US are benefiting. The New York City- based Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts has donated more than 28,500 of Warhols photos, worth $28million (20m), to various institutions. Andy Warhol: Inspired by everyday objects and images Artist likens Jordan to serial killer Myra Modern art: Jordan, far left, Myra Hindley, left, and artist Kevin Sharkey, below BY Ross McDonaghBRACE yourself for the most sicken- ing, heinous, revolting image you are ever likely to see Jordan has cut her hair short and gone back to blonde. Only kidding like a sizeable per- centage of Katie Prices body, this image isnt real; its the latest work by top Irish artist Kevin Sharkey. Entitled Public Enemy Number One, it depicts the glamour model as the infamous Moors Murderer, Myra Hindley. There has been a lot of talk of late about Jordan being voted the most hat- ed woman in the UK, which was once Myra Hindleys title, said Sharkey. On one hand we have a murderer, a bad, evil woman who was vilified and rightly so; on the other we have a girl who is a mother basically working around the clock to provide for herself and her family. I know she can be annoying and a pain in the arse, and I wouldnt be her biggest fan, but give the girl a break. Shes earning a living. The image may retain the original black and white of Hindleys chilling mugshot, but Mr Sharkey reckons Jordan is frequently viewed with a tint of green. I think strong women frighten a lot of people. Jordan has a core of steel, and I think that unnerves a lot of peo- ple, he said. A lot of people would kill to get her opportuni- ties, I think there might be a little bit of jealousy in there, he added. Donegal-born Sharkey reckons ce- lebrity culture has become an excuse for people to stay home and not bother starring in their own lives, watching others instead. However he is the first to hold his hand up, having been glued to this years Celebrity Big Brother which was eventually won by Jordans latest squeeze, Alex Reid. Its a bit like the gladiators when they used to throw Christians in the ring same thing, different times, he said. Sharkeys upcoming pieces include a black Bono with shades made of flies, and Madonna and Angelina Jol- ie passing each other in a shop with trolleys full of multi-racial children. His new exhibition opens at his stu- dio on Inns Quay next Monday.
