Radio DJs sorry for civil servant sketch DUBLINS 98 received a flood of complaints from angry civil servants after airing a skit about their fictional leader, Seamus McLazy Arse. Broadcast on the Morning Crew with Dermot and Dave, the skit described the initiatives introduced by Mr McLazy Arse since paycuts were imposed, such as the number of cups of tea drunk per hour being cut from 18 to 11; the daily two- hour stroll being cut to one hour and 59 minutes; and surfing social networking sites in work being restricted to Facebook, Bebo, MySpace and Twitter only. We really didnt intend to offend anyone. We know pay cuts are a serious business; we have received substantial pay cuts ourselves. It was just poking a bit of fun, said presenter Dermot Whelan. Were sorry for any ill feeling we have caused. Our show is all about having a laugh and we think now, more than ever, its important for us to be able to laugh at ourselves, added co-presenter Dave Moore. We did get texts from civil servants who found the sketch very funny, he added.
