A bill going through the state assembly is aimed at making Lactococcus lactis the bacterium that helps turn milk into cheese into one of its official insignias. This time a year ago, the world was introduced to Mark Gormley a new musical legend. The singer-songwriter gained internet fame for his, um, unique music videos sprinkled with green screen special effects and tatty moustache. Well, a year on and the Florida star has returned with a new video sing Me Your song. The signature techniques are back shoddy effects, the random lady wandering around and the tache. But this video is better because large parts of it take place on the Moon. Last time we wrote about Mr Gormleys videos, we noted that we had a lurking fear that they might be part of some elaborate viral marketing scheme, although we cant work out what it could possibly be for. someone was clearly paying attention as the new video has some gratuitous product placement for a brand of cheesy snack food. Of course, its always sad when your favourite artists sell out, and this is no exception. But we take comfort from the fact that it may go down in history as one of the least appetising bits of product placement ever.
