Clayton sacked Carol Hawkins last year after she allegedly used his debit and credit cards to splash out on cars, a house and jewellery. The allegations go back to September 2008, the High Court heard last month, when Hawkins confessed to Clayton, from Rathfarnham, in south Dublin, to using 13,000 of his money. At the time, she had been dealt with in a compassionate manner and was kept on in her job. Defence counsel agreed yesterday to an order preventing the former PA from al- lowing her assets to fall below 1.8million until further notice. Lawyers for Hawkins are examining an employment contract which they claim contains a mediation clause, the court heard. The legal teams were also given a timetable for the exchange of documents. There were several clauses in Hawkins employment contract, dated from July 2009, of significance and may benefit both parties, the court was told. Neither party was in court and no date was fixed for the next hearing.
