The divas self-confessed dress drama happened just 24 hours after she made a sozzled acceptance speech after knocking back one too many splashes. Mariah mayhem kicked off at the Palm Film Festival on Tuesday night when she let her emotions spill over, along with the booze, as she was hailed with a Breakthrough Performance award for acting in the film, aptly titled Precious. The singer stunned the audience as she grappled presenter, her director Lee Daniels, with a bear hug and refused to let go before jumping in the air and squealing and kicking her heels up. But the big shock came in a rare admission from the diva who all but admitted shed knocked one too many back during her big film night. Oh my goodness, she slurred. Pausing and stirring, as the crowd started to laugh at her, the 39-year-old said: I have to say this is... and please forgive me cause Im a little bit, erm... yeah.... Blinking with a guffaw, the Dream Lover then rolled her head back she shouted: Ohhhhhhh, my goodness. So in a bid to clean up her act the next evening and shake off a hangover, Mimi stumbled again when this time her heels pinned her whiter-than-white frock to the stage as she went to scoop the Best R&B Artist prize at the Peoples Choice Award. Moments before she had confessed shed misjudged the booze on an empty stomach the night before. Wed been sitting there celebrating this whole time, having little splashes, I hadnt eaten, I pulled up, I didnt want to be late so I rushed in. So thats what it was, explained the embarrassed singer. But luckily this time hubby, Nick Cannon, was on hand to minimise the blushes as he tugged at her wifes dress on the Peoples Choice stage.
