12 Russell to wed his Katy F unnyman Russell Brand has popped the question to Katy Perry and had their relationship blessed by a love guru. The one-time serial bed- hopper, who first met Perry three and half months ago, is said to have sealed their engagement during a spiritual ceremony in India on New Years Eve. A brief statement from 34- year-old Brands publicists said: We can confirm that Russell Brand and Katy Perry are engaged. Brand also sent out a text saying: Its true. Much love. They wore traditional Indian outfits and were granted luck and happiness in a tent at the foot of a Jaipur mountain, it was reported. US celebrity website Usmagazine.com quoted a Perry insider as saying the exotic trip was Brands Christmas gift to her. The website added: She told him how much she loved Indian culture while they were eating curry in England, so he surprised her. Brand and the I Kissed A Girl singer, 25, had been holidaying in Thailand. Brand was spotted shopping at a London jewellers before their jaunt, fuelling rumours he was planning to pop the question. The pair have posted photographs of themselves in India on Twitter. A picture uploaded by Perry of the pair posing in front of the Taj Mahal included the message: He built this for me.
