Did you enjoy Im A Celebrity...? I had a great time. It was life-changing. When youre in there and youre hungry and theres no shelter and you cant wash your clothes, you realise how lucky you are. I thought: Why am I moaning about being hungry because I havent eaten for five hours when there are people in the world who are starving? Were you disappointed to leave early? Of course I was. I never said I wanted to be queen of the jungle but I wanted to last a bit longer. I was happy with what I achieved and to raise my profile. Ive been working abroad for the past five years. How has the glamour industry changed since you left it? Theres a lot more work for girls these days. In the 1980s it was just The Sun there were none of these magazines for teenage boys. I was contracted to The Sun for four years and ended up doing adverts for their bingo, the time and got us there a day late, so we ended up owing the promoter a lot of money and I was put under arrest until my dad flew over with a big bag of money to get me out. Is Lemmy from Motorhead really going to walk you down the aisle? Lemmys a friend so hell definitely be there but I think my best friend will be upset if he doesnt give me away. The civil partnership ceremony should be sometime next year. Has coming out as a lesbian had any impact on your career? No, the people who have grown up with me over the past 26 years respect me and are pleased that Im so happy. All we get are nice e-mails. The boys who loved me when I was 16 are still my fans now. Whats the best Christmas present youve ever received? My parents bought me a marmoset monkey called Norman when I was a teenager. Monkeys need a lot of presenting cheques, appearing on chat shows and opening stores. What have been the highlights of your career? Becoming the most photographed woman in Britain after Princess Diana and Maggie Thatcher, being crowned best Page Three girl ever and having a No.1 record in 17 countries. Are you popular in any unlikely places? I was the first Western woman to perform in India and sold out a 70,000-capacity stadium in India three nights running. We didnt realise the stadium was so big, our PA system wasnt big enough, so Jethro Tull lent me theirs. Theres a massive statue of me and Sylvester Stallone in a town in Serbia. I was the first Western woman to perform in Siberia. Theres nothing there but snow and a railway track. Everyone wore fur coats and hats to the gig the support acts were a Russian comedian and an Elvis impersonator. Whats the worst gig youve done? Bolivia. Our tour manager was going through a marriage break-up at attention and I was always travelling. I ended up giving him away to my local 24-hour cab company. Whats been your most extravagant purchase? My BMW Z3. I saw it on James Bond and really wanted it. Im not into designer wear its out of fashion in two months and a waste of money. Who is the rudest celebrity youve met? Freddie Starr. We did Celebrity Wife Swap and he said his favourite food was steak so I made it for him and he said he didnt like it. It wasnt for the show, it was all real. Will you re-release Touch Me? Its on the greatest hits. Gino [DAcampo] made me sing it [on Im A Celebrity...]. It looked like I just got up one morning and sang it, but he asked. He said it would cheer him up and he laid down with his hands behind his head like he was expecting a lap dance. I was so embarrassed. Its one thing to sing in front of thousands of people and another to do it for one man grinning at you.
