Garda hurt in shooting at house A GARDA sergeant was recovering from minor injuries yesterday after coming under fire during a routine call-out. The officer was talking to a home- owner about damage to their house in Clondalkin, west Dublin, when a shot was fired into the hallway where he was standing with two colleagues. Although it missed him, he received cuts from shards of glass from a win- dow that shattered as the bullet en- tered through the front door of the house at Greenfort Close. It is believed the gunman was actu- ally targeting the next door neigh- bours house in an early-morning at- tack, but misfired once into the house where the garda were. This person didnt know the garda was there, said a source. As part of their inquiries, detectives are trying to determine who was be- ing targeted in the neighbouring house, which was empty at the time.
