Heres how to look salon perfect in minutes by VICKI-MARIE COSSAR P rofessional make-up artist, Sarah Jagger (www.sarahjagger.com) is author of the illustrated book and full-length DVD, Magic Make-Up Tips & Techniques. Despite a sparkly dress being the party essential, she recommends taking the glitz and glamour to your eyes. This year is all about sequined dresses but if you want to distinguish yourself from the crowd, adorn your eyes with jewel-like textures instead, she says. Tis the season to be glittery and this look can be taken from daytime to evening. The key to getting it right is to team bold eye make-up with neutral shades of nude lippy and blusher. Day Step 1: Begin with a matt, flesh-coloured eye shadow. Sweep all over the eye from lashes to brows. This will act as a base for the rest of your eye make-up and also highlight the brow bone. Step 2: Shade the eyelid into the socket line and beneath the lower lash line. Finish with a smoky black mascara to create a classic, natural looking smoky eye. Night Step 3: Use an eye pencil to draw along the upper and lower lash line. Make this line quite thick. Follow with an eye shadow brush to buff the pencil into a smudged, smoky look. Blend it right up into the outer corner of the eye. Step 4: Using your fingertip, dot mixing gel on to the eyelid. Follow with a metallic glitter in this seasons gold, bronze or silver shades. Dip your eyeshadow brush into the glitter, then press on to the eyelid. Use under the lower lashes for added drama. T his year, big is beautiful and the festive season is all about crimping, volume, waves and curls. When time is of the essence, try dishevelled French pleats, chignons, top- knots and low-slung buns, as they dont require much styling time. They are all about height at the root and not looking too polished. Think sculpted, but soft. You dont need to be a pro to perfect this either. Accessories are a great way to spice up a simple style and feathered head bands, diamant hair corsages and vintage lace hair brooches all work wonders. These can be placed into the look or for a more noticeable feature work your hairstyle around the accessory allowing your chosen item to be the focal point. Grips worn as outerwear (above) rather than hidden are hot right now. Stack them in a row on the hairline for dramatic effect. Step 1: Working with day-old dry hair, begin with a spritz of Wellas High Hair Crystal Styler and backcomb the hair slightly at the root for added volume. Step 2: Gather all the hair loosely into a low-slung ponytail either at the back, centre of the head, or in a side version. Step 3: Taking the hair of your ponytail push back with your fingers to create texture. Step 4: Create a design with your ponytail. Either keep it simple by twisting the excess hair until it begins to coil into a knot and secure, or for a more detailed design split the ponytail into random sections and secure with grips. Step 5: Complete the look with Zero Gravity hairspray for superb hold and Shine Spray, which adds a touch of sparkle for a glistening finish. Keep the fringe section of hair out then backcomb and quiff it for a cool retro look Get the Superdry look this winter. Superdry. Streetwear fashion like nothing else.
