The 50- year-old music mogul said talks needed to take place with ITV over the future of the hit talent show. There is no deal in place for the show next year, said Cowell. We do a negotiation with the network. Until thats completed I cant really talk about changes to next year. Its not about salaries. If we do bring it back it has to be better next year. He also claimed ITV invested a lot into the show to make it better for viewers. But ITV may have jumped the gun by already inviting would-be superstars to enter next years competi- tion. Cowell also refused to reveal whether he would sack a judge if the show returned in 2010. He admitted during the series that the idea of shedding a judge was a very, very good point after the current four-star line-up landed the show in a Deadlock farce.
