Culture clash: Tibetan nomads at Lake Kokonor Film Of The Day William Shakespeares Romeo + Juliet Channel 4, 11.50pm Say what you will about the treatment of the Bards most famous love story in this 1996 MTV-inspired version, but director Baz Luhrmann did at least get teenagers to break down their mental block regarding classic English language and realise they could understand it if they wanted to. It doesnt hurt that Luhrmann threw in a cast of beautiful people, a great soundtrack and guns to make this highly watchable.
