Lovers of Ireland from around the globe will be able to savour the misty shades of our climate from the warmth of their own home thanks to a new webcam on top of Guinnesss Gravity Bar. The equipment on Dublins highest viewpoint will beam weather reports, temperature and wind speed to those in far-flung destinations. The webcam has a range of weather features to ensure accuracy and clarity, but installation of the equipment had to be delayed several times because of gales and driving rain during the wettest November on record. Burglar threatened au pair with knife THE average household will see a fall of another 60 in their gas bill in the spring after a further price cut was approved by the energy regulator. Bord Gis claimed costs would fall to levels not seen since 2005 when the eight per cent drop comes into effect on February 1. Energy Minister Eamon Ryan welcomed the price cut, thanks to lower than expected wholesale prices and the strong euro. This is good news for the Irish consumer and the competitiveness of the Irish economy, he said. It will be the third price cut in a year after a 9.8 per cent decrease in October and 12 per cent in May, and goes some way to wiping out last years 20 per cent price rise. Average bills for a three-bed house are about 737 a year, compared with 950 three years ago. Gas prices cut for third time in a year A SECOND Irish film has been shortlisted for an Oscar nomination. The syndicate was alerted of the win when organiser Paul Cotter changed his status to read: Weve won the Lotto. Please call me, anyone who is in the syndicate. The win was not a complete surprise for Mr Cotter as a palm reader told him on holiday 15 years ago he would win a large sum of money in December, with the money going into his account on a Tuesday which the Lotto windfall did.
