Mr Brown was paying tribute to Reese Witherspoon, who was visiting Parliament, but seemed to confuse her with Renee Zellweger. Witherspoon was the keynote speaker at a conference calling for more Government support for women suffering domestic violence. Mr Brown said: Im very grateful that Renee Witherspoon is leading this campaign. ONE of Northern Irelands most ruthless loyalist paramilitary killers was jailed yesterday for beating up two sisters in a bar. Torrens Knight, 40, a gunman involved in an attack on a pub in Greysteel, Co Derry, at Halloween in 1993 which left eight customers dead, punched one of the women and kicked her as she fell to the floor in the bar in Coleraine in March. Her sister tried to push him away but she too was punched in the face. Knight, who was freed from jail under an early release licence as part of the Good Friday peace agreement, was sentenced to four months for the assaults. Loyalist killer back in jail for assault GARDA believe they foiled an armed post office robbery yesterday after arresting three men close by with boilersuits, masks and a gun. The gang were detained at Ballygall Road, Finglas, at around 8am near the post office on Main Street. Local officers and Traffic Corps garda swooped after reports the three were acting suspiciously. The men, all in their 20s, are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Finglas Garda Station and can be detained for up to 72 hours. In Dundalk, Co Louth, garda foiled another post office robbery at around 10.30am and arrested three men. Garda foil two post office robberies
