D Wednesday, December 2, 2009 METRO 11 By Ross Mcdonagh Youve chosen your best to battle the rest THE Irish winners of the Metro Glo- bal Photo Challenge have been an- nounced. Andy Sheridans Foggy Smith- field, Hazel Coonaghs No Future and David Scioras STOP will now go on to the global final, where they will compete against winners from 19 other Metro territories. More than 5,600 photos were sub- mitted, and since voting began on No- vember 2, more than 3,900 Metro readers chose their favourites. Globally, more than 130,000 photos were submitted with more than 75,000 votes worldwide, making the Metro Global Photo Challenge one of the worlds largest digital photography competitions. The global judging panel is chaired by Marco Delogu from Italy who, along with four other judges, will se- lect the overall three global winners.
