The girl band parted company because of jealous rows over lead singer Nicole Sherzinger, it was claimed. The 31-year-old is the best known of the five Pussycats, who achieved worldwide success with their single Dont Cha in 2005. It is thought the remainder of the group Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt were unhappy about the star status of Sherzinger, who is dating British Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton and is said to be working on a debut solo album. An official statement is expected soon. Claws are out as Pussycats split Wet man: Swiss daredevil Yves Rossy YvES ROSSY ended up sipping sea water rather than champagne yesterday as his bid to become the first person to fly between continents using a jet-powered wing failed. The Swiss daredevil blamed too much turbulence for him ditching into the Straits of Gibraltar midway through his attempt to fly from Africa to Europe. The former fighter pilot was plucked from the water by a helicopter carrying a team of paramedics but was found to be in good health. The wing I had on my back is not easy to fly. It was turbulent in the clouds. Im a little bit disappointed because my goal was the beach, the 50-year-old said. Soggy end for the jet-powered man Truth is out there Aliens are talking to us via crop circles, say those wacky Bulgarian scientists (seriously) BY FRed AtteWill What does it mean? Bulgarian space researcher lachezar Filipov, below, believes crop circles contain the answers to ques- tions his team have posed to extra- terrestrials Pictures: Caters/ Reuters ON EARTH it is known for its good value skiing, its Black Sea resorts and its proud Slavic culture. But Bulgarias fame stretches far beyond our own planet, it seems: the countrys space research institute claims it is in contact with aliens. And the researchers say they have already posed the extra-terrestrials 30 questions, one of which might have been: Didnt you think of getting in touch with Nasa first? Clearly the aliens in-flight movies during their trek across the Milky Way did not include any Hollywood block- busters. The Bulgarian team is now analysing pictograms contained in 150 crop circles which have appeared around the globe in the past year. The team believes the field mark- ings contain the answers to the posers they beamed into Space. Lachezar Filipov, deputy director of the space research institute, said: Aliens are currently all around us and are watch- ing us all the time. They are not hostile towards us, rather, they want to help us but we have not grown enough in order to es- tablish direct contact with them. They are ready to help us but we dont know what to request from them in case of contact. Mr Filipov said he believed humans and aliens would have direct contact in the next ten to 15 years. But it would be through telepathy rather than radio waves, he added. Even then, we might not see eye-to- eye with them, he warned. Referring to our interference with nature, he said: Extraterrestrials are critical of peoples amoral behaviour.
