Teen runaway spent 11 days in NY subway A BOY aged 13 with Aspergers syndrome spent 11 days hiding in the New York subway system after going missing following a telling off at his school. Police found Francisco Hernandez Jr hiding out in a station having survived for almost two weeks on a diet of crisps, croissants and snacks he bought at subway kiosks and spending his days riding the trains. His parents claim authorities were reluctant to make his case a priority because they are Mexican immigrants. Despite thousands of flyers being distributed across the city, no- one recognised or even talked to him, he said. Nobody really cares about the world and about people, he added. He was found when a transit officer saw him in a carriage, and recognised him from his photograph on a station sign.Hiding out: Subway D Wednesday, November 25, 2009 METRO 15 Phones subject to availability Prepay Blast your favourite tunes Whatever makes your Christmas perfect Buy in store or at vodafone.ie Only 129.99 Free speakers Sony Ericsson W595 99 Only 79.99 Nokia 5130 event Now is the time... Ind. No insurance for unlucky Hamster INJURY-PRONE Top Gear host Richard Hammond said yesterday he is struggling to get insurance for a holiday. The presenter was left fighting for his life after a horrific smash three years ago as he drove a jet-powered dragster. Now an ankle injury has left him struggling to get cover for a festive trip, he told a radio station. The star known as Hamster said his history means insurers were reluctant to take him on. Running in the woods, I twisted my ankle so the holiday insurers say we cant insure you. Im collecting rubbish ailments. Ive had kidney stones theyre not very heroic. Athletes foot thats a puller. Hernia oh yeah. Now Ive twisted my ankle. None of them are the kind of thing you lean on at parties, he said. The grass surface is due to be sewn into the ground with officials aiming to put in seeds either in December or March. Martin Murphy, stadium director, con- firmed the Aviva Stadium is on schedule for the hand-over in April but matches will not be played for several months. Our intention is to officially open the sta- dium in May 2010, said Mr Murphy. The first matches are scheduled for August next when Munster/Connaught will play Leinster/Ulster in rugby and the Republic of Ireland versus Argentina football match. Work on the cladding of the roof is also ex- pected to continue for several months. Zhang Yujun, a farmer, was executed for endangering public safety, and Geng Jinping for producing and selling toxic food. The contamination of the milk powder with melamine was one of Chinas worst ever food safety scandals. Dairy farmers involved in the scam conspired to increase profits by watering down milk and milk products with melamine. index.html2.html3.html4.html5.html6.html7.html8.html9.html10.html11.html12.html13.html14.html15.html16.html17.html18.html19.html20.html21.html22.html23.html24.html25.html26.html27.html28.html29.html30.html31.html
