TG4 Sky 1 Sky Sports 1 Autumnwatch 2009 BBC2, 8.30pm This week Chris Packham and Kate Humble are in south Wales to find out how marine wildlife there is faring this autumn. Meanwhile, Simon King gets an altogether sunnier task, reporting from Senegal, west Africa, on the trail of one of the most spectacular of summer visitors the osprey. These migratory raptors fly south for the winter in search of the worlds best fishing grounds and offer up some spectacular hunting scenes. Dinner on the wing: The osprey in action The Way We Worked RT1, 8.30pm This week, the series looking back at the evolution (or ruin) of Irish industries takes a look at the story of sugar manufacture. The sugar factory in Carlow was built in 1926 and by 1933 there were three other factories in Thurles, Mallow and Tuam. Comhlucht Sicre ireann was born and provided a livelihood for thousands of beet growers and sugar industry workers for 80 years, but with industrialisation came changes, and the industry is now, sadly, all but lost. Beet it: The Irish sugar industry from 1926 to today Film Of The Day They Died With Their Boots On TG4, 10.20pm Hot on the spurs of TG4s excellent Cowboys documentary about Custer and his Irish followers is this epic film detailing the life and times of the infamous general. Errol Flynn and Olivia De Havilland star in their tenth and last film together, and their romance subplot shows their affection for each other clearly. Its more myth than history lesson, but there are some stunning action scenes and a great performance from Anthony Quinn as Crazy Horse, who led Custer to a certain rendezvous with Sitting Bull and his Cheyenne warriors. Last stand: Errol Flynn as General George Custer Friday, November 13, 2009 metrolife 21 Boxing clever: Keith Barry hosts TV3s Deal Or No Deal, 9pm
