A brace from skipper Cesc Fabregas plus goals from Samri Nasri and Abou Diaby saw the Gunners brilliantly power past their Dutch visitors in an entertaining Group H clash. Despite a slow start, Arsenal were ahead on the quarter- hour mark. Fabregas collected the ball on the edge of the penalty area cut inside David Mendes da Silva and fired through the defenders legs, beating goalkeeper Sergio Romero. Nasri, making his first Champions League start of the campaign, added a second two minutes before the break. Picked out by Andrey Arshavin, the midfielder turned defender Hector Moreno before finishing low in the bottom corner. Fabregas made it three shortly after the interval and it was again Arshavin who turned provider. The Russians weighted through- ball found his captain who made no mistake. He continues to insist he was not the aggressor and the eventual pun- ishment was totally unjust. But, when United visit chelsea this weekend, he is determined to put such negative vibes to one side in the search for victory. that story is the past, he said. it is unfortunate. this year i have to make sure nothing happens because we need to get a result. indeed, while evra may hold little affection for chelsea, he has no hesitation in singling out carlo an- celottis side as the biggest danger to Uniteds hopes of landing an un- precedented fourth title in a row . every year i think chelsea will be our main rivals, he said. i am not scared of them but i re- spect them and they are the most dangerous rivals. i said it last year and the year before and i think it this season as well. evra is aware United need to sharpen up defensively following their 3-3 home draw against cSKa Moscow in the champions League on tuesday. He added: We did well to come back, as we did against Manchester city. But we need to make sure we dont concede three goals on Sun- day because then it wont be easy to get back. No place like home for Drogba PORTSMOUTH chief executive Peter Storrie has been formally charged with tax evasion. Prosecutors accused him of concealing a signing-on fee for Amdy Faye by paying it into the midfielders bank account. Storrie will appear in court on November 16. The charge relates to the transfer of midfielder Faye from Auxerre to Portsmouth for 1.5million in August 2003. It was alleged Faye was paid a 250,000 signing-on fee on which tax and national insurance was not paid. It claimed the money was paid into the account of agent Willie McKay, who has also been questioned by police. Storrie vowed to clear his name two weeks ago when he was informed of the decision to prosecute him, insisting he will defend himself in the strongest possible terms.
