The child, who the couple have named Kai Wayne Rooney, was born at Liverpool Womens Hospital. Their spokesman said: Mother and baby are both absolutely fine. Wayne and Coleen are thrilled with the wonderful addition to their family life. Rooney, 24, missed training for his club Manchester United over concerns Coleen was set to give birth and he may miss tonights game. The name Kai has a range of meanings. In Welsh and Scottish, it means keeper of the keys, while for people in Hawaii, Kai means the sea. In Maori it translates as food. For the past month, the judges have painstakingly sifted through more than 5,600 entries, and today an- nounced the shortlist of 30. Now we need you, the Metro read- ers, to help pick the top three Irish photographs which will go on to rep- resent Ireland in the world finals. Some 120,000 photos have been en- tered into the competition globally under one of the three categories: People, Places and Climate Change. The Irish shortlist was selected by a panel of local judges, chaired by Paul Kelly (Paul Kelly Photography) and supported by Stephen Quinn (Crea- tive Director, Atomic) and Glen Hay- ward (Picture Editor, Metro Ireland). The three Irish winners will win state-of-the-art photographic equip- ment, donated by Spectra Online, our Irish sponsor. They will also go to the world final where a panel of global judges will select the best in each of the three cat- egories. Each winner will win a trip Natures landscape: Malahide, by Zoomzuzaki, is one of the finalists in the Places category Suited up: The Fall of Bananaman by Desmond K finalist in the People category for two people to any city across four continents where Metro is published.
