The male bear on the right waits his chance Pictures: Roman Golubenko/Solent You wait for ages... This clever bear bags two fat salmon in one bite This is how to catch fishBY Fred ATTeWillTHIS mummy bear shows her young just what is required when it comes to catching fish. Waiting patiently, the grizzly snaps her powerful jaws shut at the perfect moment, grabbing two spawning salm- on as they try to leap the rapids. But moments after these pictures were taken, a male bear moved in and tried to snatch the catch from the female. And, proving you cant keep an eye on your children all the time, while they were brawling, one cub cheekily made off with the haul. Wildlife photographer Roman Gol- ubenko spent four days in the remote Katmai National Park, Alaska, waiting to capture the images. Every year, about 200 grizzlies congre- gate at the parks Naknek Lake to feast on the thousands of spawning salmon. When the mother bear arrived at the wa- terfall with her three cubs, thats when a male bear scooted over next to her, said Mr Golubenko, 44, of New Jersey. Everything was peaceful until the mother bear caught a fish and wanted to share it with her cubs and the male bear decided to steal the salmon. Instantly, the mother bear trans- formed from a gracious and loving mother into a fierce monster. And while the adult bears were fighting over the salmon, one of the cubs got a hold of the fish and trotted away with it. Grizzlies can stand up to 2.4m (8ft) tall and weigh up to 454kg (1,000lb). They need to eat about 40kg (90lb) of fish each day to gain enough fat for their winter hibernation. Enjoy Sensibly Visit Follow Captain Morgan on facebook as he continues his global adventure. The Australian actor, who died in January 2008 following an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, directed the video Cause An Effect shortly before starring in The Dark Knight. And Ledgers sinister concept for the rap video is thought to be the inspiration behind his Academy Award-winning portrayal of Batmans nemesis, the Joker. Ledger made the three-and-a-half minute film for London-born rap act No Fixed Abode, his close childhood friend. Ledger filmed the entire project in his garage in Australia.
