The team from this magnificent programme go in search of creepy critters that go bump in the night, where they encounter horror favourites such as spiders, bats and erm, badgers. Meanwhile, Simon King reports live from a London graveyard teeming with animals that have made this unusual place their home. Happy Halloween: Bats and their furry friends in Autumnwatch The Way We Worked RT1, 8.30pm Does any image do more to evoke memories of Ireland than the sight of men and women cutting turf in our peat bogs? This excellent series examining the changes made to our working lives in the last century this evening looks at the effects of industrialisation on the turf-cutting industry in the 1940s and 1950s. Mechanisation certainly eased the hardest labour, but brought fresh dangers for the bog men. Bog standard: The turf-cutting industry in Ireland Film Of The Day Wyatt Earp TG4, 9pm As part of TG4s Cowboy season, this Lawrence Kasdan film from 1994 follows hot on the spurs of the documentary on the events of the OK Corral. Despite boasting a stellar cast including Kevin Costner as the eponymous sheriff, Dennis Quaid as Doc Holliday, Michael Madsen, Gene Hackman, Catherine OHara and Isabella Rossellini, it is not as stirring as Tombstone, released the same year and starring Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer. Its still fine as cream gravy though. Sharp shooter: Costner lays down the law in Wyatt Earp Friday, October 30, 2009 metrolife 15 Walken tall: Christopher joins Jonathan Ross, BBC1, 11.10pm
