Does your ship have wireless or do you have to wait to read your fan mail from land? Are you joking, that would cost me a fortune, especially with my Morganettes always logging on at every port to check out Edward and John, the Grim Reaper twins on The X Factor... what is that about? So, Captains rules, we dont do wireless aboard my ship but at every port Im logging my adventures on my Irish Facebook page daily so check it out! Can you tell us more about the Dare The Captain competition on Facebook? Im challenging my Irish Facebook fans to come up with some ingenious dares that I can undertake when I come back to Ireland at the beginning of November. None of the usual stuff I want something truly legendary that will grab the attention of my Should the winner of the 1,000 spend it or bury it, like a pirate? I wouldnt have cashed in my gold into your yo-yo currency if I thought the winner would bury it. In these recessionary times theres only one thing to do spend it of course! How is the recession affecting pirates? Luckily for us, most of our treasure lies in off-shore accounts so it hasnt hit us that hard. Youve interviewed several Irish bands who was great craic, and who should walk the plank? The Coronas were a dream they even brought me on stage in Galway when I visited the Ocean Race last June which was a blast. But Mick Pyro from Republic Of Loose is someone Id like to see walk the plank... he didnt pay for one drink!? How did you get involved in supporting surfer Liam Joyce? Well, after a nasty episode with a Morganettes and make for a great video clip on my Facebook page. The person who comes up with the best dare gets 1,000 not bad for two minutes work, hey? What makes a winning darer? Something original, high impact and fun from my Irish Facebook darers, please. Im logging all the dares on my Facebook page but I dont know if Ryan Rub-A-Dub Tubridy would agree to an arm wrestle on The Late Late Show. I considered another dare of water-skiing up the Liffey but do you know how much it costs to dry clean my coat? I got dares to burp the alphabet, stand on Grafton Street and offer people free hugs (aaaaah) or stand in the Wax Museum and scare the life out of passers by. And even a dare to storm the Dil and declare myself unofficial leader of Ireland. Oh, and Ive lost count of the number of people whove asked me to walk the plank Im liking the originality from the Irish! shark (the fin now hangs above the Captains Table), I figured Id retire and throw my support behind a pro- surfer. Liam is a Kiwi of Irish descent who surfs under the Irish flag and has been doing really well on the international scene, and I have high hopes for his future with a bit of backing from the Captain. You can follow his blog on my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ captainmorganireland. Like most pirates, do you have a talking parrot? Pirate is such a strong word, Im really a 21st century buccaneer. Im actually allergic to birds of the feathered variety. I have a crew member who has a slightly unsteady talking bear that thinks its a parrot. He keeps repeating, I used to be a parrot but Im alright now, I used to be a parrot but Im alright now, I used to be a parrot but Im alright now. Get it, ha ha. I love that bear. www.captainmorgan.com Luckily for us [pirates], most of our treasure lies in off-shore accounts so the recession hasnt hit us that hard Captain Morgan Twenty-first century buccaneer Captain Morgan is no stranger to getting up to mischief on our shores but a cheeky smile always gets him off the hook. Famous for his pranks, its now time for the public to get one back on his latest project, Dare The Captain! index.html2.html3.html4.html5.html6.html7.html8.html9.html10.html11.html12.html13.html14.html15.html16.html17.html18.html19.html20.html21.html22.html23.html24.html25.html26.html27.html
