The two-year-olds body was found in a drain about 20m from the house in the west Auckland suburb of Henderson from which she went missing more than a week ago. There were fears at she had been kidnapped. However, police yesterday said that they believed it was misadventure as Inspector Gary Davey said that there was no evidence of injury. Her body has now been returned to her family. Insp Davey said: Aislings death is devastating for her family and for everyone who knew and loved her. Police, along with other members of the community, are also deeply saddened. Aislings uncle David Ball has described her loss as unbearable and said the family has been over- whelmed by messages of support. He added: The loss of Aisling is unbearable. We have, however, some sense of resolution in that Aisling has been found. It is hard to imagine a life without her, without her infectious smiles and lovely nature. Meanwhile, it has emerged that residents had raised safety concerns with the local council about the drain where Aislings body was found after a back-log of water blew the manhole cover off. KEllOGGs has developed a hi- tech method to stamp out imitation cereals by branding Corn Flakes with the companys logo. The famous signature can be burned on to individual flakes using concentrated laser beams to protect against imitation products. If trials are successful, the system could be used on other Kelloggs brands including Frosties, Special K, Crunchy Nut and Bran Flakes. We want shoppers to be under no illusion that Kelloggs does not make cereal for anyone else, said Helen lyons, lead food technologist at the company.
