Kai Eide, head of the UN mission in the country, said he would not put a figure on just how many votes were fraudulent until a recount was completed as it would be pure speculation. Daniel Granger will raise funds for Focus Ireland, which has supported 10,000 people who have fallen on hard times in the last 18 months. The 30-year-old (pictured) has taken eightweeksoffwork to trek 999km along the southern coast- line from his home in Bray, Co Wick- low, to Galway. Homelessness is one of the problems we can solve in this country if we all put our minds to it, said Mr Granger. With a support system they could be starting a new life. Most people just need a chance, he added. Mr Granger now aims to walk 20km a day, six days a week to raise funds for the charity. Donations can be made through www.bebo.com/999km.
