Reminiscent of boss Bill Cullens early days as a fruit seller in Dublins inner city, last nights task took the band of 14 wan- nabe apprentices on to the streets of Dublin to try to sell as much HB ice-cream as pos- sible. Choosing the southside of the city as their base, Team Platinum, under the direction of leader Ruth ODowd, aced the task, leaving the boys to face a chilly reception from Bill and his aides Jackie Lavin and Brian Pur- cell in the boardroom. Taking on the mantle of team leader, 25- year-old Craig Butler had his hands full from the get-go. The Kildare man, whose day job is as a business developer for a mul- tinational food company, failed to manage his team with too much time being wasted arguing rather than hitting the streets. Although they managed to sell all their stock, it wasnt enough for the boys to beat the girls nor to save Craigs skin and he soon heard Bill uttering the immortal words: Youre fired. out: Craig Butler A JUDGE has ordered a 19-year-old Hawaiian man who admitted starting a restaurant fire with a flicked cigarette to stop smoking for a year.
