ademy Where would you go? We spent three weeks in the US this summer and it was outstanding. We visited San Francisco. Then went on to LA, Huntington Beach in Orange County and finished up in Las Vegas. What did you like about it? Each location had its own highlights. San Francisco was so laid-back. One of my best memories was the day we hired bikes to cycle around. We stopped in a little village to have lunch and ice-cream, then it was on again to see the tall Redwood trees. Alcatraz was the best bit, from the ferry ride across San Francisco Bay to the outstanding tour. And thats only San Francisco. I could talk for the day about the rest of the trip. Is it a tourist trap? In LA, there are so many people trying to sell you trips to see celebrity houses, walks of fame, etc. Who would the holiday suit? If youre looking for a great trip for couples, Id definitely make sure to visit San Francisco for the romantic side and also Vegas for the crazy partying. Stopping at the beach in Huntington would suit couples or families. Its very much a seaside resort. You could spend two weeks here just going from the outstanding surfing beach, to Disneyland and relaxing by the pool. How to get there? We flew from Shannon to Dublin to San Francisco. It was 10.5hrs and was surprisingly easier than it sounds. When you arrive at airports in America, its better to have a shuttle bus booked online for arrival. Its so much cheaper than a taxi, its a fixed price so no surprises and they are very efficient. How much would it cost? The three weeks and four locations wont come in at 1,000 but you could pick two locations and go for two weeks. What made your visit memorable? I loved the positive culture of the people.
