A survey carried out by business lobby group Ibec found 90 per cent of employers say a Yes to Lisbon will send a positive message to investors internationally and will help support inward investment. The survey of more than 500 em- ployers was carried out over recent weeks and includes firms from every part of the country and of every size. Ibec director of EU and Internation- al Affairs Brendan Butler said the Treaty is vital for the success of busi- ness in Ireland. Ireland has been very successful in attracting major investment from abroad, which in turn has led to the creation of many jobs, Mr Butler said. A Yes vote is vital to ensure this continues. Meanwhile, knowledge of the Lis- bon Treaty among voters is now at an all-time high, according to a new opinion poll. Almost two-thirds of those surveyed were getting to grips with the issues, a survey for the Referendum Com- mission found, as opposed to 44 per cent on the eve of the last referendum. The poll also found nine out of ten people intend voting on October 2. Launching Fianna Fils new Yes posters, the Taoiseach again appealed for the treaty to be passed. Every citi- zen needs to hear directly about the positive case for a Yes vote, he said.
