The Croatian, who was only cleared to play in Belgium after Uefa overturned a two-match diving ban on Monday, scored from a corner on 81 minutes to cap a great escape by the Gunners. Standard raced into a 2-0 lead through Eli- aquim Mangala and a Milan Jovanovic pen- alty but Nicklas Bendtner pulled one back just before the break. Thomas Vermaelen then grabbed a controversial equaliser be- fore Eduardo sealed an unlikely win. Elsewhere, Liverpool got their campaign off to a winning start as Dirk Kuyt netted in an unconvincing 1-0 victory over Hungari- an champions Debrecen at Anfield. The Reds struggled to create clear chanc- es, but defender Jamie Carragher was happy simply to take the three points. We didnt play well, we know that, just the 1-0 tonight, but we wanted to get a win as quick as we could to qualify from the group, he said Its not our best perform- ance but we got the result.
