The midfielder sealed a famous victory with a long- range point to separate the sides in the last minute of a pulsating game in front of 25,924 people. The strike secured Clares first ever all-Ireland win at the grade, having only won their first provincial title this season. The loss is a relative blow for Kilkenny, who followed the countys minor and intermediate teams in relinquishing their titles. The sides were level nine times in an absorbing game, with Colin ryan hitting nine points for Clare. The Banner County led 0-8 to 0-6 at half-time with ryan delivering all but one of their scores.
